Submission Guidelines

  • MIPS students only

  • Your talent can be be a dance routine, a song, a trick shot, a bike stunt, etc. Be creative!

  • Talent must be appropriate for all ages – let’s keep it clean. Please avoid things like:

    • Profanity

    • Violence

    • Explicit material

    • …and anything else that doesn’t promote positive, healthy things!

  • We know you probably have more than one “thing,” but we’re only accepting one talent submission video per student. (And in case anyone was wondering, talent that’s been entered in a previous contest is A-OK.)

  • All submissions must be entered by the deadline (February 26th at midnight). We’re a friendly bunch, but in the spirit of fairness, no late submissions will be accepted.

How To Enter:

Non-exclusive Permissions:

By entering into our talent competition, you are granting us permission to use your talent submission on our website, social media channels, and other marketing platforms. We hope it goes without saying…but we’ll never try to sell your submission (e.g. art, music, etc.), and you retain all the rights to your work. Thanks for sharing your talents!

Video Guidelines/Formats

Remember, a high quality video will represent your talent better, so put some effort into the video production. A smartphone camera is great, but make sure the lighting, background, and sound quality is good. Try to perform your talent in an uncluttered environment that doesn’t distract from your talent.

Virtually any standard video file format is good. If the file is too big to email to your mentor, try uploading it to Google Drive. If you’re still having difficulties, reach out to your mentor, and they can help you find a workaround.

Judging Criteria:

  • Does the submission demonstrate skill?

  • Does the submission demonstrate creativity?

  • Is the talent presentation well-organized/prepared?

  • Did the performer have good “stage” presence?

  • Note: We’ll try not to judge the entries based on video quality, but try to make sure it’s a clear, high quality video so we can see your talent more clearly.

  • The decision of the judges will be final. Not even if you give us cookies.

This is a fairly open-ended competition. We’re looking for excellent talent – the subject material is entirely up to you. Be creative, work hard, and show us your best work!

To enter in the contest, follow the submission guidelines above.
