Position Description
Reimagine Education, LLC is seeking an innovative SES/ SBW Coordinator who will play a critical role in the Michigan International Prep School. This position has primary responsibilities of developing and maintaining systems and structures within the social emotional support programming (SES Team) and safety, behavioral and wellness programming (SBW Team) to best serve students and families. This person will have the ability to work well with other teachers, staff, students, and parents while handling and organizing multiple tasks. The successful candidate will be comfortable with productive change and embrace the opportunity to be part of a team reshaping the way students engage in and demonstrate learning with a focus on mental health and safety. This position will report directly to the Director of SST.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills
- Ability to work independently, share ideas, and be a self-starter.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at once in an effective manner and prioritize crisis situations.
- Collaborate well with teams, including but not limited to the Student Support Team.
- Develop and maintain best practices to serve students in achieving mental health, safety, behavioral, and academic goals.
- Experience serving individuals and families facing mental health barriers, crises, abuse, and neglect.
- Understanding of student disciplinary procedures with a systems focus.
- Basic knowledge of mental health assessments, processes, treatment interventions, and resources.
- Familiarity with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
- Ability to collaborate well with outside agencies to best serve students.
- Ability to facilitate multiple projects effectively, including data monitoring and systems development.
- Very strong organizational skills, with an emphasis on documentation and timeliness.
- Create innovative plans to meet the needs of the whole child and family.
- Technological skills, computer knowledge, and the ability to rapidly adapt to new technology (Chrome, Google, etc.).
Essential Duties
SES Responsibilities
- Facilitate SES New Mobility Plan process and screeners to assess newly enrolled student needs (supported by SES Lead and PACE group).
- Facilitate SES Panorama surveys to determine student needs and monitor progress.
- Develop SES Panorama Playbook of interventions to assist staff in supporting students' SEL needs.
- Conduct established assessment practices to determine student mental health barriers and connect with interventions aligned with MTSS guidelines.
- Facilitate SES meetings as requested with students and families to assess needs and connect with services.
- Learn all SES intervention options to assist team members with service delivery as needed.
- Help students build mental health skills through SES Team services.
- Collaborate with SBW Lead and team members/consultants to design and document comprehensive discipline and behavior policies, including flowcharts outlining levels of behavior, corresponding disciplinary actions, and escalation protocols.
- Establish and maintain clear guidelines for staff expectations in responding to student behavior at each level.
- Assist in creating and delivering training sessions for staff on behavior management protocols, ensuring consistent application of discipline policies.
- Develop, maintain, and regularly update all SBW policies, procedures, and staff response documentation.
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping of behavior incidents, responses, follow-up actions, and communications with students and families.
- Explore and develop new ideas for engagement, intervention, and prevention strategies that align with the school’s mission.
- Assist in developing systems within the Safety, Behavioral, and Wellness (SBW) Team for student concerns and crises to promote safety and wellness.
- Coordinate with the SST Coordinator related to data input, organization, and analysis. This position will focus on the systems, processes, and data to effectively impact team performance.
- Connect students with teachers, administrators, and staff as needed.
- Carry out other duties and obligations that are determined to facilitate the school’s mission, goals, standards, and Education Program.
