Philosophy

Reimagine Education, LLC is seeking an innovative Teacher/Elementary Interventionist who will play a critical role in Michigan International Prep School. This position has primary responsibilities of supporting students in their academic success and developing supplemental materials designed to meet the needs of diverse learners. This person will have the ability to work well with other teachers, staff, students, and parents while handling multiple tasks. The successful candidate will be comfortable with productive change and embrace the opportunity to be a part of a team reshaping the way students engage in and demonstrate learning.

Position Description

Reimagine Education, LLC is seeking an Elementary Mathematics Interventionist who will play a critical role in supporting students and parents enrolled in Michigan International Prep School. This position has a primary responsibility of providing small group and individual support for grades K-5 students struggling in Mathematics. The interventionist will collaborate with teachers and other MIPS staff to identify and serve students who need interventions that will increase overall achievement. The successful candidate will be well-versed in teaching Mathematics, using educational technologies, using and teaching critical thinking skills, and utilizing organizational skills in a complex and ever-changing environment.

Required Skills

● Develop and maintain a positive, productive rapport with parents/guardians, students, and all MIPS staff that leads to trusting relationships.
● Effectively communicate with school administrators, teachers, other MIPS staff, parents and students using email, text messaging, phone, and video calls.
● Assist teachers in diagnosis of challenges to learning mathematics and collaborate with staff to plan and implement remediation strategies.
● Provide large and small group instruction online
● Provide large and small group instruction in person when needed
● Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of Mathematics State Standards
● Effectively and accurately implement Mathematics curriculum
● Design and implement lesson plans that include interactive, purposeful assignments and activities according to students needs
● Constantly monitor student academic performance to help them stay on track and successfully complete all courses on time
● Appropriately modify curriculum, activities, and assignments when needed to meet individual student needs
● Collaborates with instructional staff on implementing effective Tier I Mathematics intervention
● Works in conjunction with the Student Support Team (SST) and Special Education
● Department staff to assist in assessing and/or identifying students who require Tier II and III interventions.
● Implements academic interventions using research-based methodology in Mathematics
● Establish, maintain, and clearly communicate expectations and guidelines
● Meet with parents, guardians, and home coaches to identify potential obstacles to improved achievement
● Maintain a detailed historical record of communication and meetings with students, parents, guardians, and home coaches
● Maintain a variety of confidential and non-confidential digital files and records
● Proctor testing online and in person when needed
● Assist with onboarding parents and students to learning in a virtual setting
● Be informed of all policies and procedures
● Carry out other duties and obligations as assigned to facilitate the school’s mission, goals, standards, and Education Program
● Teacher must honor written Board Policies and Administrative Regulations
● Teacher must be able to stand for a minimum of 30 minutes at a time
● Teacher must be able to lift 25lb and be able to sit in chair for long intervals

Strategic Planning and Vision

● Develop and articulate a clear vision for the elementary school in alignment with district goals.
● Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement strategic plans that enhance educational outcomes.

Curriculum Development and Implementation

● Oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive and challenging curriculum.
● Ensure alignment with state standards and the needs of the student population.
● Implement board policy that impacts educational instruction and learning.

Staff Development and Evaluation

● Recruit, hire, and retain highly qualified educators and support staff.
● Provide leadership in professional development initiatives and conduct regular evaluations to support continuous improvement.

School Culture and Climate:

● Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that values diversity and promotes a safe and supportive learning environment.
● Address disciplinary issues promptly and fairly, promoting a positive school climate.

Parent and Community Engagement

● Actively engage with parents, community members, and local businesses to build partnerships that enhance the educational experience.
● Communicate effectively with parents regarding school policies, student progress, and extracurricular activities.

Budget Management

● Develop and manage the school budget in collaboration with district administrators.
● Ensure efficient use of resources to support educational goals.

Student Success and Wellbeing

● Monitor and assess student performance, implementing interventions as needed.
● Promote the overall well-being of students, addressing both academic and socio-emotional needs.

Compliance and Reporting

● Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and district regulations.
● Prepare and submit reports as required by district and state authorities.
● Other duties as assigned that advance the mission and vision of Michigan International Prep School
